Backed by more than 35 years of special and regular education experience in both public and private schools in New York, Pennsylvania and Arizona, Master Consultant ,Cynthia Wirth,MAT truly understands students with unique needs and is dedicated to helping them get the most out of life. She is a consultant for the Pathway School specializing in both high school and college education. Cynthia also received the Middle School Special Education Teacher of the Year award from the Whitemarsh Women's Club and acts as a supervisor of student teachers and education interns at Gwynedd-Mercy College.
Credentials : Master of Arts in Teaching, Teaching certification in Special Education and highly qualified status as a secondary teacher of English;Certification as Academic Coach for College students on the autism spectrum granted by Dr. Lynda Geller (Bank Street College of Education,Manhattan)

Professional Profile
Mrs.Wirth's professional career has been dedicated to the research and practice of methods and curriculum to create successful programs for students with special needs in grades 6 through 12 in both public and approved private schools. She has experience with diverse learning populations including: Navajo students with special needs, students with non-verbal learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, learning disabilities, and students in the legal system awaiting adjudication.
Mrs.Wirth has presented on the topic of autism to the special education department of the Page Unified School District in Page, Arizona and on the use of coaching as a strategy to support students on the spectrum transitioning to college at the CEC conference in Athens, Georgia. Most recently, Mrs.Wirth presented on the transition to college process at the Gwynedd-Mercy Autism conference in the spring of 2011.
Educational Innovator
While at The Pathway School, Mrs.Wirth designed and taught a social skills course that used a business model to reinforce appropriate work place skills. High functioning students with Asperger’s syndrome ran a school based business that serviced the school community.
Summer of 2010 marked the beginning of a dual enrollment program for high school students on the spectrum who are planning for college . The Pathway School offered the Bridge to College Program again in 2011.
